How will the results of the College Basketball Tournaments Impact March Madness?

When you’re getting ready to pick games (ATS) for March Madness, remember a few things in the last three days of the Conference Tournaments.

1)A team can enter the tournament having won three or four straight games, capturing its conference titles. Does that automatically mean they are the team to bet on? Teams that play on Sunday’s championship games have to fly back later that night. They don’t know their opponent until late Sunday night and they have a day or two to practice.  The fresher teams are the ones that lost earlier in their conference tournaments. They may not have the momentum, but they can rest injured players, and a few days off can help as they prepare for March Madness.

2)The top seeds usually get benefits. That means easier early-round opponents and tournament locations that are closer to home. There is a better path to the Final Four so getting a No. 1 or 2 seed is extremely important.

3)Teams that lose in the conference title game can be undervalued. Power 5 teams are 46-34-2 ATS in the first round after losing the conference title game. Fading conference tournament winners in the first round due to mental and physical fatigue is not a bad idea.

4)Teams that were on the bubble and had deep conference tournament runs are usually figuring things out. They can be very dangerous 9-12 seeds as they have a lot of momentum and confidence heading to the Big Dance.
