The NBA is still on break until Thursday, but if you play college basketball, this is the most incredible time of the year when it comes to making a profit. 

A lot of teams are on the bubble for the 68-team NCAA Tournament, so they will do what it takes to win at this point of the season. This can also create shorter rotations and stronger intensity. Teams that are not on the bubble may have less to play for, thus showing less intensity.

Be wary about inflated lines because oddsmakers also know that bubble teams need these games and those who aren’t on the bubble may have less motivation.

For example, USC is a team the NCAA Tournament would probably like to see in because they have an emerging freshman in Alijah Arenas. But they are 48th in the NET Rankings and 2-5 against Quad 1 teams, which places them on the bubble. They’ll have plenty of opportunities to improve their status, or like many Power Five teams, they might have to win a game or two in the Big 10 Tournament to get in the Big Dance.

These factors are extremely important when it comes to March Madness and trying to earn a profit betting college hoops. Right now, we’re hitting the dog days of college basketball, where injury reports, travel, fatigue, motivation, line moves and the bubble watch are factors when it comes to handicapping.
