OHIO (6–2, 4–0 MAC) AT AKRON (1–7, 0–4 MAC)

TV / time: 7 p.m. ET | ESPN2
Site: InfoCision Stadium, Akron, Ohio.
Odds: Ohio  -14 | Total 51½.

Records: Ohio 4–4 ATS, 4–4 O/U; Akron 3–5 ATS, 6–2 O/U. Ohio is 2–2 outright on the road; Akron is 1–2 at home.

Weather: The hourly forecast calls for approximately 65°F at kickoff, mostly clear, cooling into the low 60s during the game.

QB matchup: Ohio’s Nick Poulos has completed 57 of 97 passes (58.8%) for 769 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions. His season totals reflect five appearances, so Ohio’s full-season passing average understates his recent production. Akron’s Brayden Roggow has 1,343 passing yards, seven touchdowns and nine interceptions, with a 58.9% completion rate.

Offense/Defense — season averages per game:

  • Ohio offense: 369.4 total yards; 177.0 passing; 192.4 rushing; 29.6 points.
  • Ohio defense: 333.4 yards allowed; 198.3 passing; 135.1 rushing; 21.9 points allowed.
  • Akron offense: 349.9 total yards; 215.4 passing; 134.5 rushing; 19.0 points.
  • Akron defense: 412.5 yards allowed; 226.9 passing; 185.6 rushing; 32.8 points allowed.

Last three games, oldest to newest:

  • Ohio: Beat Central Michigan 31–14, covered -2½; beat Sacramento State 48–7, covered -17½; beat Eastern Michigan 24–20, failed to cover -11½. 3–0 SU, 2–1 ATS; one Over, two Unders.
  • Akron: Lost to Eastern Michigan 25–23, covered +4½; lost at Miami 34–14, failed to cover +9½; lost at Kent State 35–20, failed to cover +2½. 0–3 SU, 1–2 ATS; two Overs, one Under.

Last-game recaps: Ohio survived Eastern Michigan 24–20 on October 24 behind a late 100-yard kickoff-return touchdown and a defensive stand. Poulos threw for 266 yards and a touchdown, adding a rushing score. Akron lost 35–20 at Kent State despite outgaining the Golden Flashes 422–376. Roggow passed for 275 yards, while Jordan Gant rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns. Akron surrendered 21 unanswered points after leading 17–14. O

Key injuries / availability:  Poulos is the expected starter for Ohio. Akron QB Cibastian Broughton has a lingering knee designation, while RB S. Patrick is listed questionable. Those entries still reference earlier games and are not confirmed Tuesday designations.

BUFFALO (5–3, 3–1 MAC) AT MIAMI, OHIO (5–3, 3–1 MAC)

TV / time: 8 p.m. ET | ESPN
Site: Yager Stadium, Oxford, Ohio. Both teams are tied near the top of the MAC standings, making this a significant conference matchup.

Odds: Miami -6½ | Total 44½.

Records: Both teams are 4–4 ATS. Buffalo is 4–4 O/U; Miami is 6–2 O/U. Buffalo is 1–2 outright on the road. Miami’s official schedule shows a 3–1 home record.

Weather: Approximately 66°F at kickoff, with clouds and temperatures remaining in the mid-60s.

QB matchup:

Buffalo — Jason Wright: 92-of-185 passing, 49.7%, 987 yards, seven touchdowns and four interceptions. He averages 5.3 yards per attempt. His conference numbers are cleaner: four touchdown passes against one interception. Buffalo needs efficient supporting play from Wright while its running game carries the larger workload.

Miami — Caleb Heavner: 56-of-102 passing, 54.9%, 615 yards and three touchdowns, plus 217 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. He is expected to make his fifth start after injuries removed Miami’s top two quarterbacks. His mobility is an important part of an offense that has become less explosive through the air.

Offense/Defense — season averages per game:

  • Buffalo offense: 330.3 total yards; 154.6 passing; 175.6 rushing; 22.6 points.
  • Buffalo defense: 377.0 yards allowed; 227.8 passing; 149.3 rushing; 25.4 points allowed.
  • Miami offense: 358.1 total yards; 217.0 passing; 141.1 rushing; 27.0 points.
  • Miami defense: 364.8 yards allowed; 269.9 passing; 94.9 rushing; 25.8 points allowed.

Last three games, oldest to newest:

  • Buffalo: Beat Toledo 23–8, covered +18½; beat UMass 25–18 in overtime, covered -6½; beat Bowling Green 31–24, covered -2½. 3–0 SU, 3–0 ATS; one Over, two Unders.
  • Miami: Beat UMass 20–19, failed to cover -6½; beat Akron 34–14, covered -9½; beat Central Michigan 28–27, failed to cover -3½. 3–0 SU, 1–2 ATS; two Overs, one Under.

Last-game recaps: Buffalo beat Bowling Green 31–24 as Messiah Burch rushed for 184 yards and three touchdowns. Wright added 127 passing yards and a touchdown without an interception. Miami edged Central Michigan 28–27 behind Heavner’s 221 passing yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, plus 58 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Maleek Huggins caught seven passes for 122 yards.

Key injuries / availability:

  • Miami QB David McComb — out for the season. Injured against UConn on September 26.
  • Buffalo QB Elijah Holmes — listed out for the season, knee. Wright has taken over.

2025 meeting: Miami won 37–20 at Buffalo, covering -2½. The game went Over 38½.

Key matchup — Buffalo’s rushing game against Miami’s front: Burch has topped 100 rushing yards in five consecutive games, and Buffalo has forced seven turnovers over its last three contests. Miami presents a more difficult rushing matchup than its overall defensive yardage might suggest. If the RedHawks contain Burch without committing extra defenders, Wright will have to attack through the air more often.
