2026 NFL Draft Betting Odds Preview

The NFL Draft runs Thursday at 7pmET in Pittsburgh and lasts until Saturday, April 25. The first round is on Thursday, rounds 2-3 on Friday, and Saturday offers fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh rounds.

When it comes to betting on the NFL Draft, there are several options, including picking the number one player. At that point, the Raiders are going to take QB Fernando Mendoza, so it’s not worth betting on him at -20000 (from DK).

The second pick is likely to be David Bailey (-135) or Avrell Reese (+105). The NY Jets have that pick and Bailey, an Edge from Texas Tech, seems the likely pick over DE Reese from Ohio State. Bailey tied for the FBS lead in sacks with 14.5 in 2025.

Reese (+125) could end up in Arizona, which also needs pass-rush help. But there’s a possibility that dynamic runner Jeremiyah Love (+850) from Notre Dame goes as high as third. Running backs normally don’t get drafted over pass rushers in today’s game.

Love, at least in the mock drafts, appears to be a lock as a top-five pick. He’s +115 to be drafted fourth by Tennessee, who can use a lot. There are also a lot of questions after Medoza, Bailey, and Reese as to who gets drafted from 4 and on. Ohio State LB Sonny Styles is a fantastic athlete who is more of a middle/inside backer than an Edge. Those guys, again, usually don’t go this high.

Francis Mauigoa makes sense to the NY Giants at the 5th pick. The Miami (FL) offensive tackle could also start inside at guard. He’s +380, while Styles is +175 to go to the Giants in the fifth pick.

You can also bet on each team’s top position. So, for example, if you think Baltimore is going to draft an Edge, that’s +475. They are favored to draft an offensive lineman (+140) and a wide receiver (+190), because those are the biggest needs.

One of the more popular bets is positions over/under. For example, the total number of cornerbacks drafted in the fourth round is listed at 4.5. Over 4.5 would be +330 and Under is -500. That shows that it’s a pretty weak draft for corners. If you think Love is the only running back drafted in the first round, go under 1.5 (-700). If you think there will be two or more, go over 1.5 (+400).

Another popular bet is the player who will be first of his position selected. The first offensive lineman is expected to be Mauigoa (-270). If you think Spencer Fano (+330) will be picked higher, you’ll get good value.

Not every team drafts by need, but if you’re going to draft players outside the top five, it’s important to know each team’s needs.

2026 NBA Play-in Tournament Preview

The NBA Play-in Tournament begins on Tuesday with No. 10 Miami (42-39) facing No. 9 Charlotte (43-38) at 7:30pmET and No. 8 Portland (41-40), taking on No. 7 Phoenix (44-37). If Phoenix wins, they move on to the playoffs as the 7th seed in the West and the same with Portland. If Phoenix loses, they have to play the winner of the No. 10 Golden State (37-44) vs. No. 9 LA Clippers (41-40) game. The loser of the No. 9 vs. No. 10 games in both conferences goes home. The winner advances to the Play-in Final on Friday vs. the loser of the 9-10 game.

*-stats from DunksandThrees.com

Tuesday, April 14

10)Miami (46-35-1 ATS, 47-35 O/U)  vs. 9)Charlotte (50-32 ATS), 31-51 O/U)

From Charlotte, NC, the Spectrum Center, 7:30pmET

Winner faces the loser of the No. 7 Philadelphia 76ers vs. No. 8 Orlando Magic on Friday for the eighth playoff spot.

Line: Charlotte -5.5

Total: 228.5

ML: Miami +180/Charlotte -215

Head-to-Head: Miami 3-1 SU and 3-1 ATS. Last game: Charlotte 136-106 at home

Key Stats*: Charlotte is 8th in Adjusted Net Rating, 6th in Adjusted Offensive Rating, 14th in Adjusted Defense. 27th in Pace, 2nd in Rebound Rate.

Miami is 13th in Adjusted Net Rating, 12th in Adjusted Offense and 13th in Adjusted Defense. First in Pace, 12th in Rebound Rate.

Analysis: Charlotte has had quite a regular season, but they’ll need to win twice to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2016. A big worry here is that they don’t match up with the Heat who beat them three times and in the fourth, did not have center Bam Adebayo, who sat out with a calf issue. Miami is led by Norman Powell, who has played in just 58 games due to injuries, while Adebayo adds 20.1 points and 10 rebounds. The Hornets are 33-16 since Jan. 1 and have one of the best records since 2026 started. Braxton Miller (20.2ppg), LaMelo Ball (20.1ppg 7.1apg) and rookie Kon Kneuppel (18.5ppg, 42.5% 3pt) are combining for 10.3 three-pointers per game. Rebounding will be key as the Hornets are second in rebound rate, led by Moussa Diabate (6-10, 210).

*-stats from DunksandThrees.com

8)Portland (44-38 ATS, 42-40 O/U) vs. 7)Phoenix (46-33-3 ATS, 37-45 O/U)

From Phoenix, Arizona, Mortgage Matchup Center

The winner moves on to the 7th seed in the playoffs, and the loser faces the winner of the LA Clippers/Golden State game on Friday.

Line:  Phoenix -3.5

Total: 216.5

ML: Phoenix -158/Portland +134

Head-to-Head: Phoenix won two of three games SU and ATS. In their last meeting on Feb. 22,

Key Stats*: Portland is 20th in Adjusted Net Rating, 22nd in Adjusted Offensive Rating, and 11th in Adjusted Defense. 8th in Pace, 7th in Rebound Rate.

Phoenix is 15th in Adjusted Net Rating, 18th in Adjusted Offense and 10th in Adjusted Defense. First in Pace, 17th in Rebound Rate.

Analysis: Portland has won five of its last seven games and will need to win two games to make the playoffs. That would be a great accomplishment because Tiago Splitter has been their interim coach for most of the season due to the suspension of Chauncey Billups early in the season. Portland is led by 7-2 Donovan Clingan (11.6rpg), a space eater and rim protector with a soft touch (12.1ppg). Deni Avdija is one of the best all-around players in the Western Conference, averaging 24.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 6.7 assists, who gets little notice. Shaedon Sharpe (20.8ppg) is another gifted scorer, but if this team has an issue, it’s their shooting from the field (45.3%) and three-point shooting (34.3%), where they rank near the bottom of the league. A healthy Phoenix team could be a factor in the West. The good news is that Dillon Brooks (20.2ppg) and Devin Booker (26.1ppg, 6apg) rested late in the season and appear to be healthy. The bigger question is whether Jalen Green (17.8ppg) can return from a knee injury. The Suns also struggle to shoot the ball (45.5% FG), but they have some strong three-point shooters in Connor Gillespie (40.1%) and Royce O’Neal (40.8%).

Wednesday, April 15

8)Orlando (45-37 SU, 37-44-1 ATS, 45-37 O/U) vs. 7)Philadelphia (45-37 SU, 41-38-3 ATS, 39-43 O/U)

From Philadelphia, PA, Xfinity Mobile Arena

The winner moves on to the 7th seed in the playoffs, and the loser faces the winner of the Charlotte/Miami game on Friday.

Line:  Philadelphia -1.5

Total: 220.5

ML: Philadelphia -120/Orlando +102

Head-to-Head: The Sixers have won two of the three meetings SU and ATS. In their last meeting on Jan. 9, the 76ers won 103-91 from Orlando.

Key Stats*: Orlando is 17th in Adjusted Net Rating, 16th in Adjusted Offensive Rating, 12th in Adjusted Defense. 14th in Pace, 10th in Rebound Rate.

Philadelphia is 19th in Adjusted Net Rating, 17th in Adjusted Offense and 17th in Adjusted Defense, 16th in Pace, 20th in Rebound Rate.

Analysis: Orlando has won five of their last six games, and if this team does reach the playoffs, it can be dangerous. It starts with the return of Franz Wagner, who has played in just 34 games due to various ankle and lower-leg injuries. He’s played in just 34 games this season, but averages 20.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, shooting 48.1% from the field. He’s an excellent complement to Paulo Banchero (22.2ppg, 8.4rpg, 5.2apg). The Magic have been very ordinary from the field (46.4%) and from the three-point line (34.3%), but a lot of that has been without Wagner. The big question for Philadelphia is whether Joel Embiid (abdomen) is going to play. It appears that the former MVP is going to miss the play-in tournament due to an Appendectomy. That’s a huge loss considering he’s averaging 26.9 points and 7.7 rebounds despite playing 38 games. In this matchup, they’ll have to rely on Tyrese Maxey (28.3ppg, 6.6apg), one of the most explosive guards in the league. Andre Drummond (8.4rpg) isn’t Embiid but he can rebound just as well. But for the Sixers to win this game, they’ll need Paul George (17.3ppg, 5.3rpg) to live up to his own nickname of “Playoff P”.

10)Golden State (37-45 SU, 34-47-1 ATS, 49-33 O/U) vs. 9)LA Clippers (42-40 SU SU, 42-39-1 ATS, 42-40  O/U)

From Inglewood, CA., Intuit Dome

The winner moves on to face the loser of the Portland/Phoenix game on Friday and the loser goes home.

Line: LA Clippers -5

Total: 220.5

ML: LA Clippers -205/Golden State +172

Head-to-Head: The Clippers won three of four games SU and ATS.

Key Stats*: Golden State is 17th in Adjusted Net Rating, 16th in Adjusted Offensive Rating, 12th in Adjusted Defense. 14th in Pace, 10th in Rebound Rate.

Analysis: Two aging teams meet in this matchup and both teams are still relying on future Hall of Famers to advance. Steph Curry has played in just 43 games and still led the team in scoring with 26.6 points per game, while shooting 39.3% from long range. He has played in just four games since Jan. 30, averaging just 20.3 points, 3.5 assists, but is shooting 41.7% from three-point range in 26.8 minutes per game. They did add another aging veteran in Kristaps Porzingis (16.1ppg, 5.3rpg) to give them a rare 7-3 rim protector, but the loss of Jimmy Butler to an ACL injury at mid-season was a devastating blow and his leadership and defense can’t be replaced. The Warriors have won just one of their last eight games. The Clippers have played a little bit better than Golden State down the stretch, but it’s tough to develop chemistry after some major acquisitions when they have so many injuries. Yet, there is talent aside from Kawhi Leonard, who is having a great season in 65 games, averaging 27.9 points and 6.4 rebounds. James Harden, though slowing down, is shooting just 41.9% from the field, yet he still gets to the line 8.5  times per game. Bennedict Mathurin (17.4ppg, 5.5rpg) adds star potential and length if he can just stay healthy. The same can be said about point guard Darius Garland (19.9ppg, 6.4apg), who could be an All-Star-caliber player if he can stay healthy, which has been rare in a seven-season career.

Does pace of play impact totals in the NBA Playoffs?

Pace of play stats for NBA Playoffs

As the NBA playoffs start on April 18 and the play-in tournament tips off on Tuesday, April 14, how is important is tempo when it comes to totals?

In the NBA playoffs, the pace is normally slower than normal because teams are forced to play defense, and in a long series, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to push the ball at a very high tempo.

For example, the pace of play doesn’t always lead to a great offense. Case in point is Miami, which ranks 1st in pace of play, but 13th in offensive rating (according to DunksandThrees). Sometimes, the slower team runs the best offense. If you look at Boston, they are 30th in pace of play and second in offensive rating. The Celtics are also 4th in defensive rating, which might explain why they are 30-52-1 Under this season.

Last season, Boston was 5-5-1 O/U in the playoffs after finishing 29th in pace of play. But their defense was slightly worse than this season (6th in defensive rating). The bigger question is whether a slower pace in the regular season correlates to more unders in the playoffs?

That can be a tricky question, but it wouldn’t make a lot of sense to go over with slower-paced teams, especially when the tempo is even slower in the postseason.

This season, Miami (1st), Atlanta (4th), and Minnesota (10th) are in the playoffs as fast-paced teams, but the other seven are out of the playoffs (Utah, Chicago, Wash, Dallas, Memphis, Portland, Indiana). The Heat are barely in the play-in tournament, so playing at a faster pace didn’t help eight of the top 10 teams make the playoffs.

Last season, OKC was the fifth-fastest team, and Indiana was the sixth-fastest, and both met up in the NBA Finals with the Thunder winning. In the Finals, the total finished at 5-2 Under.

Research is important in any handicapping endeavor so check out DunksandThrees.com or TeamRankings.com for possessions per game (similar to pace) and you can find the pace of play stats. Also, check out offensive and defensive efficiency numbers. Regular season numbers don’t automatically mean that high-paced teams will play fast; however, knowing that most of the playoff teams are out of the top 10.

A slow pace doesn’t always indicate an under if their offense is elite. The under makes sense in situations where the pace of play might be slower and the fact that defenses are better. For example, when looking at the top defenses in terms of adjusted rating, OKC (1st), Detroit (2nd), Spurs (3rd), Boston (4th), Toronto (5th), Houston (6th), New York (7th), Minnesota (8th), Atlanta (9th) and Phoenix (10th) are all playoff or play-in teams.) are all playoff teams (from 1-9 in defense). When it comes to pace, there is only one team in the top 5 (Atlanta) and six teams are in the bottom 10.

Aside from the pace of play, check out the latest key injuries, offensive and defensive efficiency stats, logs for the last 10 games and matchups for each team this season to give you some tips when it comes to picking totals for the NBA Playoffs.

Why is it important to bet on the niche sports?

Some bettors think we’re at a “dead period” when it comes to sports, because college basketball, the NFL, and college football are in the offseason.

There are many other options for sharp bettors, and we call them niche sports.

There are plenty of niche sports available, but right now, with this being spring, let’s focus on golf, horse racing, UFC and UFL.

Why would you bet on sports that most people don’t watch?

These are not popular sports, and they may have less betting action. However, it also means that the odds can be more favorable for the bettor. They offer a strategic advantage because they feature less analytical saturation and lower betting volumes than mainstream sports. There are softer lines available along with value bets.

But here’s the thing: the more eyes on a market, the sharper the odds become.

Sports like MMA, which is getting more popular by the day to bet on, golf, UFL, WNBA, and horse racing are just some of the niche sports full of opportunities.

Advantages of betting on smaller sports:

1)Less efficient odds

2)Bookmakers don’t invest as much in modeling minor sports. That leaves room for mistakes — and value.

3)Fewer public bettors = less noise

4)Odds don’t swing wildly due to hype or emotion. You can make cleaner, quieter decisions.

5)With fewer random events and less media drama, stats often reflect reality more directly.

The best option is to focus on one niche sport. Let’s say golf is your so-called niche sport. Develop as much knowledge as you can about the golfer’s records, greens in regulation, all the metrics, how the course plays, weather, etc.

Weather and track conditions are also very key in sports like horse racing, as well as jockey and trainer patterns.

In terms of MMA/UFC, styles make fights and matchups are huge. Unlike boxing, wrestling is involved. Sometimes a wrestler can beat a striker; other times a striker matches up better against a wrestler. Cardio, durability, and fight IQ are keys to winning. There are also underdogs winning a lot, which can make this sport very profitable.

A sport like the WNBA or the UFL can be very profitable if you have the right information. In a lot of cases, the favorite is overvalued and the top teams are overinflated in terms of the odds.

But the bottom line is that if you truly understand a niche sport better than the bookmaker, you can find value.

Live Betting in Golf

Live Betting Golf

Now that The Masters Tournament has begun (Thursday), I thought it would be the perfect time to bring up Live Betting. This is a pretty exciting way of betting as the tournament is happening. You can bet on various outcomes as players make their moves. Once a tournament begins, there’s a reset after each round, and sportsbooks will offer refreshed odds throughout the tournament. The tournament winner odds are refreshed even during play.

The key to live betting during golf tournaments is patience and strategy. Also, remember several other key components of live betting on golf.

1)Early leaders often regress.

2)The course conditions can change dramatically due to the weather.

3)Look to bet strong players who start slow (good prices)

Types of Live Bets in Golf

1) Head-to-Head. You can wager on which player outperforms the other. Check past performances and current form. Also assess how golfers perform under pressure.

2)Live Over/Under. This is about betting on certain performance metrics. For example, total strokes in a round.

3)Prop Bets: Betting on total bridies or whether a player will hit a certain score.

4)Hole-to-Hole Betting. This is about betting on a player’s performance on specific holes.

5)Outright Winner: The toughest bet is picking the player to win the tournament, but you can make the most money.

Golf Betting Guide

Betting Guide for Golf

With The Masters starting on Thursday, we thought it was a great time to talk about the basics and keys to betting on golf.

Before you bet, you must know the simplest things about a golf tournament, and that is a typical PGA event starts on Thursday and finishes on Sunday. The LIV Golf League is different because it focuses on 54-hole stroke play (instead of 72) for individual and team titles. It also goes Friday-Sunday, and that’s a blog for another day (lol).

Research is also crucial to earning a profit in betting on PGA tournaments. There are many sites, including PGA.com, datagolf.com, ESPN.com and golfstats.com.

Let’s focus on the basics for betting the PGA Tour:

1)Outright Winner:

If you are picking a player, say Tiger Woods, (I know he’s out), to win The Masters Tournament, that he must finish first outright, and if it goes to a playoff, he must win it. You can pick Scottie Scheffler to win The Masters (+495 on DK), and you can make a nice scorer, even though he’s the favorite. Scheffler has played in six events in 2026 and is averaging 68.3 to rank second behind Jake Knapp. He also has one win and three top 10s.

2)Each-Way Betting:

This is where you pick a player to win and a player to finish in the top positions. You can still win partial money if your golfer places, but doesn’t win. For example, you can combine an outright winner bet with a placement bet (one that will finish in the top 5. When you make an each-way bet, your wager amount is doubled into two bets: a win bet and a place bet.

3)Head-to-Head Matchups:

This is where you bet on one golfer to perform better than the other. Since they are both not playing, let’s say Phil Mickelson vs. Tiger Woods. Whoever has the lower total score over the tournament wins. You must also distinguish between betting on a tournament or a round matchup in this type of bet.

4)Top Finish Bets

This is a very popular bet, which can include a Top 5, 10, 20, 30, or 40. This is much easier than picking the winner, but the payouts are much lower.

If you bet $500 on Mickelson to finish in the top 20 (+130) at a certain event and he finishes 12th, you would earn $650 in profit. Now, certain dead heat rules may apply at the sportsbook you are looking at that may come into play with top finish bets. If a player finishes in a tie for 20th with other players, I would make sure you choose a sportsbook that says next to the winner odds that say “including ties”.

NCAA Championship Basketball Game Betting Preview

The national championship game goes at 8:50pmET from Indiana, featuring No. 1 seed Michigan vs. No. 2 seed UConn from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The game will be broadcast on TBS/tru/HBO Max.

UConn (34-5, 17-22 ATS, 18-21 O/U) vs. Michigan (36-3, 19-20 ATS, 17-22 O/U)

Odds: (from DK). Michigan -6.5. Total: 144.5. Money line: Michigan -298; UConn +240.

Prop Bets: Final Four Most Outstanding Player Best Bet:  Aday Mara (Michigan) +220. Longshot: Silas Demary Jr. +800

We’re finally here at the end of the college basketball season and another strong NCAA Tournament. The Final Four was not special after some great games in the Elite Eight. UConn handled Illinois by nine as a 1.5-point dog, while Michigan dominated No. 1 Arizona 91-73 as a 1.5-point underdog. UConn is going for its seventh NCAA title and third for Danny Hurley/.  Michigan is looking at its second and the first for Dusty May. The Wolverines are 1-6 in the national title games.

UConn (9th KenPom, 27th in Adjusted Offense, 9th in Adjusted Defense, 319th in Adjusted Tempo). UConn beat No. 3 Illinois in the semifinal and dominated the game as a slight underdog. Tarris Reed Jr. dominated a big Illini frontcourt with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Braylon Mullins, the hero in the Elite Eight, added 15 points on four 3-pointers. But it was the UConn defense that was the most impressive, holding a very good Illini offense (ranked first on KenPom) to just 34% shooting from the field and 23% from beyond the arc. They were outrebounded by nine. The Huskies arrived in Indianapolis by beating Furman by 11, UCLA by 16, No. 3 Michigan State by four, and No. 1 Duke 73-72 in one of the most incredible finishes in the history of the NCAA Tournament. Mullins nailed a 35-pointer with 0.4 seconds left to lead the Huskies to the come-from-behind win. UConn did not play well, shooting just 5 of 23 from beyond the arc (22%), and Mullins was 0-for-5 from 3-point range before he made that big shot. But Tarris Reed Jr. was phenomenal against Duke, dominating the paint with 26 points, nine rebounds, and four blocks. Alex Karaban, who went 2 for 10 against the Blue Devils, is having a great tournament, averaging 17.8 points on 39% shooting from 3-point range despite that poor shooting performance. But with the size of the Illini, they will need players like Silas Demary Jr. (39% 3pt), Karaban (38% 3pt in the regular season), and Mullins (33.7% 3pt reg season) to step up from the perimeter.

Strengths: Dan Hurley is one of the best coaches in the nation—very balanced scoring. Defense is elite, and they shoot 48.1% from the field. Reed can compete against any big man and is stronger than Mara. Just beat one very good Big 10 team. Weakness: Three-point shooting is mediocre for an elite team (35.2%, overall). Offense can be susceptible to droughts.

Michigan (1st KenPom, 4th Adjusted Offense, 1st Adjusted Defense, 22nd in Adjusted Tempo) blew the doors off of Arizona on Saturday night. That was despite losing star Yaxel Lendeborg for most of the game due to an MCL strain. He played just 15 minutes, scoring 11 points, while 7-3 center Aday Mara led the way with 26 points and nine rebounds. Lendeborg returned after going back to the locker room multiple times, despite (reportedly) the urges of family members to sit out. The Wolverines managed to shoot 44% (12 of 27) from 3-point range and went +12 in the rebounding margin against a top-five rebounding squad.

Michigan arrived at the Final Four after destroying No. 6 Tennessee 95-62, No. 4 Alabama (90-77), Saint Louis (75-72), and Howard (101-80). They were defeated by Purdue in the Big 10 title game 80-72 as a 4.5-point favorite.

The Wolverines have a very talented squad, led by Lendeborg, who had 27 points and seven rebounds last Sunday against Tennessee. He is one of the best all-around players in the nation, averaging 15.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks, while shooting 52.3% from the field and 38.3% from beyond the arc. Mara (12.2ppg, 2.6bpg, 6.8rpg) has plenty of perimeter help led by UNC transfer Elliott Cadeau at the point, averaging 10.3 points and 5.9 assists, while shooting 37% from three-point range.

Michigan also has several players who might be taken in the first round of the NBA, along with Mara, Lendeborg and Morez Johnson (6-9, 250), who averages 13.1 points and 7.3 rebounds, while shooting 62.1% from the field. In terms of guards. Lendeborg is expected to play on Monday

Strengths: Size. They are eighth in rebound rate.  Number one in the nation in field goal defense (38.4%). Weaknesses: Not many. Guards are good, but they don’t have an explosive scorer.  They are 288th in defensive turnover rate.

NHL Playoff Betting Outlook

If you are betting on hockey, it’s important to know which teams are playing for seedings and which ones are out of the mix. The NHL Playoffs begin on April 18, and the regular season will end on April 16.

There are 16 teams the quality for the playoffs from the 32 teams, with eight coming from both conferences.  Teams that are fighting for playoff spots have more motivation and a sense of urgency. NHL teams don’t usually believe in load management, but players can go through the motions if they have nothing to play for aside from their individual stats.

Some points to remember:

A)The top three teams in each division automatically qualify for the playoffs. In the Eastern Conference, that would be Carolina (104 points), Tampa Bay (102 points), Montreal (100 points), and Buffalo (100 points). With 4-5 games left, there is still a lot to play for.

In the West, you have Colorado (110 pts), Dallas (102) and Minnesota (100), all from the Central Division, vying for the top three, and all of them have clinched at least a top-three.

B)The top three teams in each division automatically qualify for the playoffs. In the East, the Atlantic Division has Boston (95pts), still with a long shot of getting a top-three spot, but with just four games left. Pittsburgh (96pts), Philadelphia (90pts), Ottawa (90pts), Detroit (88pts), the NY Islanders (89pts) and Washington (87pts) are fighting for playoff spots in the East and the last two wild card spots.

In the West, there is a huge divide between the top three teams and the rest. Edmonton (87pts), Anaheim (87), Vegas (86) and Utah (86) are all vying for playoff spots. Edmonton, Anaheim, and Vegas are in the Pacific Division, along with the LA Kings (83) and San Jose (81), who all have shots of finishing in the top three of the Pacific Division or wild card spots. Nashville (82pts) and Winnipeg (80pts) are fighting for the last two wild-card spots in the conference, along with Utah.

The top division winner in each conference will play the second wild card team, and the other division winner will play the first wild card team. Right now, that will be Colorado vs the LA Kings in the West and Tampa Bay vs. Boston in the East.

The second and third-place teams in each division will match up with one another in the first round. Buffalo would play Montreal in the East, while Dallas would meet Minnesota in the West.

A Betting Guide for MMA

A Betting Guide for MMA

Some people only like to bet on team sports, but sharp bettors realize that a sport like UFC can be very profitable. Unlike boxing, UFC has a consistent schedule, where there is a card nearly every Saturday. Research is key because the better fighter doesn’t always win. They say styles make fights, and that’s important in UFC. Is he or she a wrestler or a striker? Wrestlers often control fights. The goal is not to just pick who has the best record.

  • Ground experts dominate through control and submissions.
  • Strikers dominate through damage and knockouts.
  • Complete fighters who combine both tend to reach the top in today’s UFC.
GROUND: Wrestling, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, control on the mat.

STRIKERS: Boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai

Top Betting options:

1)Money Line

This is the most basic bet in MMA. If you lay -125 on a fighter, that means a winning bet of $125 would net $100 in addition to your initial stake. If you bet the underdog at +110, that would mean a winning bet of $100 would win $110 in addition to your initial stake. If you have a +200 odds, that means a better would have to place a $100 wager to receive a $200 profit if the wager was successful. A -200 odds means that a bettor would have to play a $100 bet to receive a $50 profit if the wager was successful.

2)Over/Under Rounds or Round Totals

The key to this bet is to wager on how long the fight will last. For example, let’s say a round total is set at 1.5 rounds. If you bet the under, then you think that the fight will end before 2:30 of the second round. If the O/U set is at 2.5, then go under if you think the fight will end in the first round. If you think it will end up longer than 2:30 into the third round, then the over is the play. It’s important to pay attention to whether the fight is scheduled for three or five rounds.

Also, make sure you know the history of both fighters and how they finish a fight, and how they have been finished. If you get a fight where two fighters who have never been stopped in their career, the value is on the over. However, if you have two big finishers, then you may consider the under.

3)Method of victory.

You can wager on the exact outcome of the fight. Whether it’s a KO, TKO, submission, or a judge’s decision. The judge’s decision is a difficult one to wager as you have to rely on all three judges’ scores to determine the winner.

4)MMA Parlay: These can be very profitable, but as with most parlays, you need to get all the outcomes selected correctly. You can choose four different fighters on a UFC card to win all their fights via a moneyline bet and parlay them. There are also SGP (Same Game Parlay) bets, which are structured around the same fight in MMA betting. Let’s say you pick Fighter A, and you want him to win by a decision, but also have the most significant strikes and most knockdowns in a fight. That would be an SGP bet and a profitable one if all legs hit.

5)Prop Bets

There are many different prop bets, including: 1)The number of significant strikes landed. 2)Number of submissions in the fight. 3)How many takedowns will be landed in the fight? 4)Whether the fight will be a unanimous decision. Not every prop will be available for every fight. Most props will be listed until a day or two prior to the event.

Final Four Betting Preview: Michigan vs. Arizona

Final Four Betting Preview

The Final Four is headed for Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Saturday, where we’ll have No. 3 Illinois vs. No. 2 UConn at 6:0pmET and No. 1 Arizona vs. No. 1 Michigan at 8:49pmET on TBS.

In terms of odds, Illinois is a 2.5-point favorite, and the total is 139.5. The money line is Illinois -130. Michigan is a 1.5-point favorite in the second game, and the total is 157.5. Michigan is -122 on the money line. Here is a link to the first preview of UConn/Illinois.

Michigan (35-3, 18-20 ATS, 16-22 O/U) vs. Arizona (36-2, 23-15 ATS, 19-19 O/U)

Michigan is the favorite to win the title (+170), according to DraftKings, while Arizona (+180) is the second favorite.

Michigan (1st KenPom, 5th Adjusted Offense, 1st Adjusted Defense) arrives at the Final Four after destroying No. 6 Tennessee 95-62, No. 4 Alabama (90-77), Saint Louis (75-72) and Howard (101-80). They were defeated by Purdue in the Big 10 title game 80-72 as a 4.5-point favorite.

The Wolverines have a very talented squad, led by 6-9 Yexel Lendenborg, who had 27 points and seven rebounds on Sunday against the Vols. He’s averaging 21 points per game, 7.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in this tournament, while shooting 59.2% from beyond the arc. Michigan might not have a superstar, but they have several players who might be taken in the first round of the NBA. One of them is 7-3 Aday Mara, who averages 11.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks. Morez Johnson (6-9, 250) is another potential first-rounder who averages 13.7 points and 7.4 rebounds, while shooting 64.3% from the field. In terms of guards, Elliott Cadeau (9.9ppg, 5.5apg) runs the show, and as a junior, who also played at North Carolina, should be fine in this moment. *(Check on Cadeau’s status. Apparently, he had an allergic reaction to something he ate on Wednesday.

Strengths: Sixth in the country in field goal shooting. Size. They are eighth in rebound rate.  Number one in the nation in field goal defense (38.4%). Weaknesses: Guards are good, but they don’t have an explosive scorer like Jaden Bradley, Keaton Wagler, or Silas Demary Jr.  They are 288th in defensive turnover rate.

Arizona (2nd KenPom, 4th Adjusted Offense, 2nd Adjusted Defense) comes to the Final Four after winning 13 straight games. That includes a dominant performance over Big 10 champ Purdue (79-64), which was the second seed. They also crushed No. 4 Arkansas (109-88), beat Utah State by 12 and demolished LIU (92-58). This is Arizona’s first trip to the Final Four in 25 years. Guard Jaden Bradley, who was named Big 12 Player of the Year, has been ordinary in the tournament, averaging 13.3 points and 3.8 assists, while shooting 44.7% from the field (33.3% 3pt). But he’s normally a 39% three-point shooter. Guard Brayden Burries leads the Wildcats with 16 points per game and shoots 39.2% from the field. Arizona has the better guard play. Now the question is whether they can neutralize Michigan’s size. It helps to have freshman forward Koa Peat (6-8, 235), who averages 13.7 points along with 5.5 rebounds. Motiejus Krivas (7-2, 260) and Mara should be a war in the middle. He’s averaging 10.4 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.9 blocks. An x-factor is Tobe Awaka (6-8, 250), who is a great rebounder with 9.3 per game in just 21.1 minutes per game.

Strengths: Rebounding (6th in total rebounding percentage). They shoot 50.3% from the field. Weaknesses: Three-point shooting (36.7%) is good, but not great. In conference play, they were worse at 33.2%. If you can slow down their game in the paint, Arizona takes just 26.4% of its shots from 3-point range, which is one of the lowest marks in the nation.
